WHO ARE GEN Z?
Coming of age in the digital era and a connected world
Generation Z are the demographic cohort succeeding Millennials and preceding Generation Alpha. Gen Z overtook Millennials in 2019 to become the largest generation on earth. Currently aged between 11 and 26 years old, they are humanity’s first generation born into the digital age.
At Gate One, we believe that given this generation are the dominant segment that many of our clients will seek to either serve or employ, it is hugely important for them – and for us – to better understand and harness the incredible potential of Gen Z, a generation woven into culture and purpose, and to understand and tap into the power they wield to impact business and brands.
Gen Z have the potential to bring fresh perspectives to our clients and to offer unique insights to their business models and offerings, allowing them to stay ahead in an ever-changing marketplace, and to shape the future of work.
GENERATION Z: AN INTRODUCTION 🔊
To help one of our Irish clients, Business Post Group, better understand this crucial audience, Gate One decided to go straight to the source. We arranged a collaboration with students from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School's CEMS Masters in International Management programme to provide insights on how best to engage Gen Z consumers.
Alongside Gate One, the students conducted research and presented their findings and recommendations to the Business Post Group's editorial team. This innovative client-student collaboration drove some fascinating insights into the areas companies must prioritise when seeking to engage Gen Z.
This document outlines the framework we developed based on the findings of the research, and provides a clear and practical way for businesses to better engage with Gen Z.
