However, digitalisation has helped change the mindset of staff within the Trust. “As an organisation, we sometimes play with our head down because we are dealing with the day-to-day. We face critical incidents, industrial action winter pressures, post-COVID recovery… the opportunity to think strategically is limited.”
Anthony wishes to shift from this “day-to-day” mindset to look more broadly in scope. “I am asking senior colleagues to try and spend a third of their time on planning, a third of their time on stakeholder management and a third of their time on the day-to-day. Digital solutions are fundamental to this shift, to implement horizon scanning and planning.”
